Top 5 Travel Essentials

Hey guys! We have been a little busy with work and school and haven’t had much time for blogging! We are super excited to start blogging again now that school is almost over! With that being said, that means summer is finally almost here!! The beach and pool are calling our names! We teamed up with HomeAway to share our top 5 must have travel essentials! We’ve heard that Pensacola Beach and San Diego are some of the most popular getaway locations right now. Whether you are going on a one day trip, a weekend getaway, or a weeks long vacation, these are the things we think everyone absolutely needs!

  1. A good read– Sitting and tanning can get boring sometimes, so bring one of your favorite books to read while relaxing!
  2. Sunnies– Squinting is no fun, who likes wrinkles? Bring a pair of sunglasses to keep the sun out of your eyes!
  3. Snacks– We LOVE food, and leaving the beach to go buy lunch is just a hassle! Bring some of your favorite snacks and have a little picnic with your family and friends!
  4. Paddle ball– When sitting in a beach chair or playing in the ocean gets a little boring, bring some fun games for everyone to play! Our family loves Paddle Ball, we always try to see how long we can hit it back and forth to each other!
  5. Refreshing face and body mists– These are essential for cooling down, especially if you get sun burnt! Our favorite DIY face mist is the Cucumber and Aloe one from Design Love Fest! This site even comes with cute, free printable labels for the face mists!

Football Season is Here: Virginia Tech Edition

The end of the summer is near, but that only means football is right around the corner. This past weekend was Virginia Tech’s first football game of the season. On Labor Day, we played Ohio State, which was intense! When we beat Ohio State last year, all of Blacksburg went crazy! So we had some pretty big expectations to live up to again this year.  At the half, we were up 17-14, but our QB, Michael Brewer, injured his collar bone. The final score sadly ended up being 42-24 in Ohio’s favor, but it was still a great game to start the season with!

There were so many events prior to Monday night’s game that were “hyping” the Hokies up for the game. Brad Paisley put on a free concert in Cassell Coliseum’s parking lot the night before the game and it was amazing! My friends and I were pretty far away from the stage, but it was still a great time! This was the part of the show where he FaceTimed Carrie Underwood to sing their song, Remind Me. remind me

Lane Stadium is is where the magic happens. It’s packed full of students, alum, and just plain ol Hokie fans jumping to Enter Sandman, screaming at the refs, and cheering “Let’s Go Hokies”. Lane was PACKED for this game, we were crammed against other students in the bleachers, but it was still an amazing first game!

We cannot wait for the rest of the football season, GO HOKIES! 🙂

Fall Bootie Guide

Here’s to day two of #BloggersBTS! As mentioned yesterday, this entire week is dedicated to back to school fashion and we couldn’t be more excited! My current obsession, and I really do mean total obsession, is ankle boots and booties! They are so cute and there are so many different ways to style them. I seriously looked and looked and looked for a cute, reasonably priced pair for months! I finally bought my first pair at Old Navy for $8 on clearance and that’s when the obsession began. At the #nsale, I tried on an adorable pair of booties but they were still priced at $80, even on sale! I needed something cheaper so I did some researching, found some super cute booties and had to share!

Look Designer for Less!

Happy Monday!

Today’s post is dedicated to these amazing nude & brown handbags we’ve been crushing on! The bags that are displayed first are the designer brands that are wayyyy out of our price ranges, but they’re what’s in style so we came up with similar items that cost under $100 (which is more like it for us college girls). Enjoy!
